HERE NOT HERE // ELENIT // 2020

// what is your problem?

ELENIT premiered at Onassis Stegi in November 2019. Rehearsed on the same stage in Athens one year later, the work was ready to tour once more: programmed by Théâtre de la Ville – Paris, with Fondation d’entreprise Hermès support, to appear at Théâtre de la Cité internationale. With days to go, a second lockdown saw these Paris performances postponed.

This was our problem. Filming and sharing the documentary short HERE NOT HERE was a solution.

// suspended in honey

ELENIT opened in ATHENS as COVID was coming.

Soon after, its world TOUR slowed to a STOP.

This is us, on STAGE and off, preparing for PARIS.

Then, another LOCKDOWN.

We are still HERE, suspended in honey, missing you (NOT HERE).

// on ELENIT, heads & hearts (excerpt)

// the ideal for me is: no one single meaning

// audiences can create their own stories as they watch // free from right or wrong

// and simply surrender to the sensations // without the need to understand

// just wondering what happened HERE[hand on heart]

// NOT HERE [hand on head]
