// a new comic tragedy under Epidaurus’ starry night

TOURNÉ Acclaimed creator and performer Euripides Laskaridis, at the intersection of dance, theatre, and visual arts, is preparing a work for the Little Theatre of Ancient Epidaurus, exploring aspects of the adventure and artistry involved in theatre, and aspects of the contemporary Greek identity overall. A glance at the erratic stories we tell about ourselves and antiquity inside an amphitheatre devoted to Dionysus. At the same time, an excavation of Euripides Laskaridis’ personal mythology which evokes memories, images, and emotions from the culture of summer theatre tours. A new tragicomedy unfolds under the starry night of Epidaurus.

// reviews

“a new-age revue, with a plethora of zainy and comic outbursts, alongside moments of hysterical laughter – primarily thanks to its amazing performers - with a visual push that at times creates a poetic impact. And with the principle of a constant and imaginative stage-transformation in the foreground. This is Euripides Laskaridis’ TOURNÉ, which extends its magical touch even further than his previous attempts, taking the mickey out of his own theatrical origins with much emotional eloquence.”
— STELLA CHARAMI // monopoli.gr

“the humor, this buffoonish sense of ridicule, which Euripides Laskaridis so uniquely, so authentically possesses, and has introduced to us through his previous works, takes on even greater dimensions, analogous to the space in which the performance is presented.”
— ALEXANDROS DIAKOSAVVAS // Lifo

“In his first descent to Epidaurus -and in the first performance he created for an open theatre- the inventive creator wanted to offer the 700 spectators on Friday (and the about 1000 of the sold out performance on Saturday) a tour in the world of tragedy and comedy [...] and to reveal a bit of the theatre’s magic through those tricks of the directors and set designers who, using cheap materials, create a deceptive and impressive image for the audience.”
— MARY ADAMOPOULOU // Ta Nea
